- 1891 printing of 1891 copyrighted text. Part of the Indiana State Series. Designed to follow the Elementary English Grammar and to serve as a complete one-book course for more advanced pupils. Teaches that thought is the essential thing and language is secondary to the idea to be expressed. Principles of language are explained and illustrated before rules are given. Examples of chapters: classification of words, properties and modifications, nouns and pronouns, the verb, the preposition, the subject, noun modifiers, analysis of sentences, synthesis, construction of adjective modifiers, punctuation, prosody. Schultz Archive's copy includes preface, TOC, pages 204 – 207 and 220 – 266, which cover prose composition, composition in series, and letter writing.

- 1848 printing of 1848 copyrighted text. The author is credited with a Master of Arts degree and as Principal of the Phillips Grammar School, Boston. Designed as an introduction to a larger work on the analysis of sentences. Emphasizes simplicity in the presentation and performance over memorization. The work is divided into two parts: formation of words (orthography and etymology) and formation of sentences (rules for construction, models for analyzing and parsing). The author states that sentences have a meaning and a form, a thought and a mode of expression. This leads to exercises on equivalents (equivalent words, phrases, or clauses). Part one is broken into introduction, derivation and composition of words, and parts of speech—inflection. Part two has an unnamed section followed by simple sentences, complex sentences, compound sentences, and prosody. The Schultz Archive copy contains the preface, the TOC, the introduction to part one, and the first section of part two.

Text aims to imprint on the memory and understanding of the learner an image of the most prominent features of the etymological part. For the syntactical part, the preface states that rules and notes suffice for parsing sentences and phrases. Text states grammar consists of six parts: orthography, orthoepy, etymology, syntax, punctuation, an orthometry. The Schultz Archive copy contains only the preface and the first page of the text.

- This new edition, revised, re-arranged, and improved was printed in 1851 and copyrighted in 1851. The author is credited as Reverend P. Bullions, Doctor of Divinity, Late Professor of Languages in the Albany Academy, and the author of the Series of Grammars, Greek, Latin, and English, on the Same Plan. (Making the teaching of these grammars the same is part of Bullions' method.) Bullions claims that this work intends to do more than summarize the foundational work of Murray's grammar. The author also credits the influence of Lennie, Angus, Connel, Grant, Crombie, Hiley, and Beck. Grammar is both a science and an art, according to the author. He attempts to make the principles of English grammar accessible to young students through the use of definitions to be committed to memory and numerous examples, such as examples of false syntax for correction. The text is divided into orthography, etymology, syntax, and prosody. The art of composition is given a handful of pages in the prosody section. The Schultz Archive only includes a very brief excerpt of the title page, preface and table of contents. The scans are good quality, but there is some highlighter throughout that obscures some text.

- 1843 printing of 1843 copyrighted text. The preface boasts of a new theory (a system) of English grammar. It argues that language is inseparably connected with the intelligence and welfare of individuals and that the English language is ascendant. The preface presents 24 examples of sentences rendered according to the author's grammar and those same sentences constructed according to the old theories to demonstrate the failings of the old. The text includes a mix of definitions and thorough lectures with a few exercises. The Schultz Archive copy includes the preface, address to the teacher and sections on grammar and entomology, roughly the first 49 pages.

The text has sections on orthography, etymology, syntax, and prosody. The syntax section is divided into fifteen different rules covering subject, agreement, government, apposition, and construction. The Schultz Archive copy includes only the TOC and pages 48 and 49, as well as a note on the four kinds of type used.

A grammar handbook designed with a new method to impart a knowledge of grammar in a much shorter time than previous texts, and it is explicitly for families and private learners. The text uses parsing lessons, a section of false grammar corrected (broken into many rules). The appendix contain notes to syntax. The Schultz Archive copy contains a few pages (presumably) from each of the various sections of the work. Some of the copies cut off the text in the margins.
