Current practice is to document vital signs on\r\na piece of paper as they are being taken and then later transcribed to the EHR. This practice utilizes\r\npoor use of clinical time, increases the chance of errors and causes a delay in clinical decision\r\nmaking possibly leading to escalation of care.\r\nThis project intends to use evidence based technology methods to electronically document vital\r\nsigns in real time. The growing use of Telehealth, creates need for academia to provide health care providers with Telehealth skills, such as effective and appropriate communication. In order to address this need for students enrolled in the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) program a telehealth simulation was created and implemented called “Ask the Expert”, a simulated Telehealth portal for parents and patients to post general health care or diagnostic questions was created using Flipgrid as the video platform.
