Research conducted by Virginia Tech, Rutgers, Floating Island International, and the International Institute for Sustainable Development indicates successful remediation and removal of nutrient runoff from agricultural production, wastewater treatment, and human and animal waste. Plants with different rooting depths and surface areas can phytoaccumulate phosphorus and nitrogen compounds. Like wetlands, FTWs create an environment for microbial life around the rhizosphere of plants and the island substrate, generating colonies of bacteria called biofilm that digest nutrients from water or sediment. Natural wetland habitats, one of humanity's most efficient biofilters, have been destroyed around the United States to make room for farmland and cities. This research has been aggregated to fuel an FTW design on a small farm in Waynesville, Ohio, and other lakes and ponds for people that this research may inspire.\r\n"],"license_tesim":["http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/mark/1.0/"],"date_created_tesim":["4/11/2024"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/41687j94q?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-depositing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["41687j94q","ws859h272"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["AJ Bryant Horticulture Capstone Project Spring 2024"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fj2363633"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["41687j94q","ws859h272"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"sort_title_ssi":"HOW CAN FLOATING GARDENS MITIGATE AGRICULTURAL RUNOFF IN PONDS AND LAKES IN WAYNESVILLE OHIO","human_readable_type_tesim":["Document"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["bryana9@mail.uc.edu"],"nesting_collection__ancestors_ssim":["fj2363633"],"nesting_collection__parent_ids_ssim":["fj2363633"],"nesting_collection__pathnames_ssim":["fj2363633/9s1617772"],"nesting_collection__deepest_nested_depth_isi":2,"_version_":1796084283918516224,"timestamp":"2024-04-11T23:50:51.674Z","score":0.00049999997},{"system_create_dtsi":"2024-04-07T19:51:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-04-07T19:52:24Z","has_model_ssim":["Document"],"id":"xk81jm928","accessControl_ssim":["03be094d-f46b-4845-bc88-f2796738637d"],"hasRelatedMediaFragment_ssim":["k643b261p"],"hasRelatedImage_ssim":["k643b261p"],"depositor_ssim":["longgt@mail.uc.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["longgt@mail.uc.edu"],"title_tesim":["How Can Living Plants On Clothing Artistically Address Environmental Stewardship?"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2024-04-07T19:51:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-04-07T19:51:26Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"doi_tesim":["doi:10.7945/z54r-cx36"],"college_tesim":["Design, Architecture, Art and Planning"],"department_tesim":["Horticulture"],"creator_tesim":["Long, Gwyneth"],"publisher_tesim":["University of Cincinnati "],"description_tesim":["This project consists of a living fashion design that conveys a message about environmental stewardship. grow and improve, IoT devices have increasingly become more and more a part of people’s everyday lives. Although that is the case there is a need to understand how to better use these devices for threat detection. This paper presents early work to understand gaps in this regard using a review of previously used techniques to identify known threats to households. Through the use of smart home device clusters we seek to effectively reduce the amount of false alarms and create a more reliable resource for home residents."],"license_tesim":["http://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"date_created_tesim":["2020-04-14"],"related_url_tesim":["https://itexpo20.live/research/18"],"source_tesim":["IT Research Symposium’20"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/8049g6245?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-depositing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["8049g6245"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["2020 Information Technology Research Symposium"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["ws859g993"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["8049g6245"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"sort_title_ssi":"IOT EMERGENCY DETECTION DEVICES","human_readable_type_tesim":["Article"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["kropczjn@ucmail.uc.edu"],"nesting_collection__ancestors_ssim":["ws859g993"],"nesting_collection__parent_ids_ssim":["ws859g993"],"nesting_collection__pathnames_ssim":["ws859g993/nc580n99m"],"nesting_collection__deepest_nested_depth_isi":2,"_version_":1697086687912394752,"timestamp":"2021-04-15T06:26:26.976Z","score":0.00049999997}],"facets":[{"name":"human_readable_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Article","hits":89,"label":"Article"},{"value":"Document","hits":8,"label":"Document"},{"value":"Student Work","hits":2,"label":"Student Work"},{"value":"Dataset","hits":1,"label":"Dataset"}],"label":"Human Readable Type Sim"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Jan Stappers, Pieter ","hits":2,"label":"Jan Stappers, Pieter "},{"value":"Long, Gwyneth","hits":2,"label":"Long, Gwyneth"},{"value":"Ruecker, Stan ","hits":2,"label":"Ruecker, Stan "},{"value":"Aftab, Mersha","hits":1,"label":"Aftab, Mersha"},{"value":"Ahmed, Sara","hits":1,"label":"Ahmed, Sara"},{"value":"Ai, Xiaoqun","hits":1,"label":"Ai, Xiaoqun"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Design ","hits":85,"label":"Design "},{"value":"Design","hits":3,"label":"Design"},{"value":"Antiracism","hits":1,"label":"Antiracism"},{"value":"Art History","hits":1,"label":"Art History"},{"value":"Art History ","hits":1,"label":"Art History "},{"value":"Biofilm","hits":1,"label":"Biofilm"}],"label":"Subject Sim"},{"name":"college_sim","items":[{"value":"Design, Architecture, Art and Planning","hits":96,"label":"Design, Architecture, Art and Planning"},{"value":"Arts and Sciences","hits":2,"label":"Arts and Sciences"},{"value":"Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services","hits":1,"label":"Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services"},{"value":"Medicine","hits":1,"label":"Medicine"}],"label":"College Sim"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[{"value":"Graduate Studies and Research ","hits":79,"label":"Graduate Studies and Research "},{"value":"Graduate Studies and Research","hits":5,"label":"Graduate Studies and Research"},{"value":"Horticulture","hits":3,"label":"Horticulture"},{"value":"- School of Information Technology","hits":1,"label":"- School of Information Technology"},{"value":"Art History ","hits":1,"label":"Art History "},{"value":"Biological Sciences","hits":1,"label":"Biological Sciences"}],"label":"Department Sim"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English ","hits":83,"label":"English "},{"value":"English","hits":11,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language Sim"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"University of Cincinnati ","hits":100,"label":"University of Cincinnati "}],"label":"Publisher Sim"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[{"value":"2017-10-31","hits":88,"label":"2017-10-31"},{"value":"2024-04-11","hits":2,"label":"2024-04-11"},{"value":"2025-04-09","hits":2,"label":"2025-04-09"},{"value":"01-2024","hits":1,"label":"01-2024"},{"value":"2020-01 ","hits":1,"label":"2020-01 "},{"value":"2020-04-14","hits":1,"label":"2020-04-14"}],"label":"Date Created Sim"},{"name":"member_of_collection_ids_ssim","items":[{"value":"d504rk335","hits":88,"label":"d504rk335"},{"value":"5138jg20s","hits":1,"label":"5138jg20s"},{"value":"f1881n50r","hits":1,"label":"f1881n50r"},{"value":"fj2363633","hits":1,"label":"fj2363633"},{"value":"n009w4074","hits":1,"label":"n009w4074"},{"value":"ws859g993","hits":1,"label":"ws859g993"}],"label":"Member Of Collection Ids Ssim"},{"name":"generic_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Work","hits":100,"label":"Work"}],"label":"Generic Type Sim"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":2,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":10,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":100,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":false}}}
