The text contains simple and interesting lessons consisting of short and easy words. The 70 lessons are all narratives and poems with numbered paragraphs. Many include a moral lessons, sometimes presented with questions. There are some pictorial illustrations as well. Author credits the influence of the Juvenile Miscellany.
