The book is organized into three parts: elementary work, on how to approach any subject; rhetorical effectiveness, on style, figures of speech, and sentence and paragraph structure; kinds of composition, on different kinds of correspondence, and the modes of narration, description, exposition, and with a considerable emphasis on argument.
