Habitat: Sandstone bluffs and gorges ; hemlock/hardwood coves ; floodplains ; upland mixed hardwood forests ; pine forests ; associated with oak ; maple ; tulip poplar ; hemlock ; pine ; rock type = sandstone ; sandstone conglomerate.; Mesic hardwoods on bluff tops ; on moist seepy soil.
