Habitat: small hummocks at base of white cedar
Locality: Cedar Bog Memorial State Nature Preserve, ca. 2.5 mi S. of Urbana along Woodburn Rd. off U.S. 68. E side of E Branch, directly W of Manager's home.
Habitat: Growing mixed with other species of Sphagnum in wet, boggy areas among the Darlinrtonia.
Locality: wayside park off of U.S. 101 N. of Florence
