Habitat: Mixed mesic hardwood forest, with scattered hemlock along creek.; associated with Thuidium, Bartramia, Callicladium, Polytrichum, Dicranella, Dicranum, Grimmia; Rock Type = sandstone; on vertical sandstone above creek, in seepy area.
Locality: Shawnee State Forest near Portsmouth, on U.S. 125. Jets, forest roads 6 & 27. Snake Hollow area ca 4 mi N of Bear Creek Reservoir and Horseman's Camp Ground.
