    Description/Abstract:
    E-waste is a global problem that is growing at an amazing pace, going from 41.4 million metric tonnes (Mt) to 44.7 Mt in just 3 short years. With the amount of devices that are being released each month it’s easy to forget the impact it can have. Our undertaking is to create a more accessible method of disposing and tracking unwanted or outdated devices. We plan to accomplish this with a frictionless web application that will allow anyone to recycle their goods using a painless and efficient pickup system which is both secure and speedy. We will create and test the web app to show both the pickup and delivery of an item as well as safe methods to secure or destroy any unwanted data.

    According to research done by Statista out of the 2,000+ respondents Social Media, Binge-watching, and Gaming were three out of the top five leading distractions while on a computer. Lockdown is the ultimate tool to help keep users productive while on their computer whether at home or work. Using solely a C# application and PowerShell scripts we can help minimize the daily distractions of the internet. While there are many ways users can block websites, those are only a portion of the problem with few solutions for the rest. This paper discusses the work, validation, and development of the desktop application as well as our hopes for future features and results.

    The UC Disc Golf App is the definitive solution for both new and experienced players to optimize their experience while on the course. With the use of GPS the app allows real-time mapping and visualization of any disc golf course. The UC Disc Golf App allows users to track flight distance for each throw as it happens. The app also provides users with the luxuries of detailed scorekeeping, social media integration, a virtual Disc Bag, and a comprehensive PDGA rulebook. The creators of the app are avid disc golf players looking to lift the sport through passion and innovation. The team planned to integrate a GPS chip into each disc and develop a companion website for the app to optimize the implementation of all its features.

Approximately 60% of small business close within six months of being hacked. Technology is growing at speeds that many companies are not able to correctly implement and secure. VonLehman Security Auditing will review a company using a five-step approach. Educating users and testing various aspects of a company’s security is vital to securing their systems from malicious actors. The results of these tests will be compiled into a final risk assessment report which will recommend next steps and give the client a better understanding of their vulnerabilities.

This balance is not often seen in the proctoring service market, in many cases either the functionality is limited, and the security is sound, or the features are rich, but everything feels a little invasive. These invasive practices include requiring full control over the computer and tracking the students every movement. Proctor Wiz aims to fix the issues we see in current offerings, by offering essential features and the security that matters. Our product lets the user review any information taken from them to ensure that they feel safe, while also giving the reviewer an easy-to-use management and filing interface.

  • Howdy Neighbor

    The Howdy Neighbor web application is an online resource designed for anyone planning a move. While moving, which the average American will do over 11 times during their lifetime (Bureau, 2020), there are many factors that may be overlooked, which could positively or negatively affect the outcome of the move. Some of these factors include area age demographics, nearby crime statistics, and local school district information. As well as obtaining all of this important information, one must also remember to set up necessary utilities for the new home prior to moving in. By using Howdy Neighbor, movers will have access to a virtual checklist to use during the home search process, as well as a pre-move-in task reminder checklist to use prior to the move. Once these checklists are complete, the user will be able to move to their new home with the confidence and peace of mind they deserve.

    More than half of the United States workforce is now working outside of the office and 15% face daily connectivity issues. HomeNetCheck is a tool for users and remote support technicians to help better diagnose network issues which would otherwise be difficult to address remotely. Technology departments need a tool that can analyze a user’s machine and network before relaying that information to remote technicians. HomeNetCheck will collect system and network information for a remote user and then display that information in an easy to view format online with little action from the user. Information that is collected for each host during the support will be stored for future use to help diagnose similar problems that may occur.

    Technologically Organized is an effort to help a small business develop an internet presence. Websites are the most effective business and marketing channel for small business around the US and are the second most successful at bringing in business behind Social Media. Without a website and general infrastructure to support them, small businesses are at a severe disadvantage to larger corporations and services. Simply Organized is a service committed to providing organization services at a reasonable cost to individuals, families, and businesses alike. They are looking to expand their brand by leveraging a website to promote themselves and provide customers with information about their business. Our team will assist them by creating a website, implementing a Customer Relationship Management Application (CRM), and securing and upgrading their home network to provide them with a platform for growth. We will also place a heavy focus on training business users to maintain the products we provide to ensure effectiveness of the solution for the future. This project will culminate into a valuable asset for Simply Organized and will positively impact revenue and help the service succeed in their market space.

E-Portfolios are increasingly being viewed as a tool to not only improve the learning experience of students but also to enhance the employability, career development and professional identity of business graduates. Kollab provides features for users to showcase their online portfolio displaying certifications provided by universities for extra credibility to employers, as well as features for recruiting others with common interests to work on projects that provide relevant experience to their areas of future employment pursuits. Although there are similar solutions for project collaboration in today’s market, Kollab will focus on being the middle man for students on their journey into the job market.

  • Choc-O-Lock

    Insiders pose a real threat to the security of data centers. The Chock-o-Lock is an auxiliary security system that uses facial recognition to authenticate users. The system will require the user to authenticate first at the door to the server room and then again to gain access to each individual server rack. The system will log all attempts to access the data center and server racks, along with other important security information. Security teams will be able to easily control who can enter the data center and regulate the number of people in the data center at one time, restrict the access of each user only to the specific server racks they need to work on, audit the logs recording all data center accesses, and gain a clear picture of data center usage.
