Part one contains introductory and oral exercises using familiar objects and the inductive method. Objects are analyzed through their qualities, actions, and relations. Part two states the principles of English grammar in rules and definitions to be committed to memory and applied in exercises. This version has been abridged from the author's Elements of English Grammar. The text is broken into five parts: Introductory, orthography, etymology, syntax, and prosody. The Schultz Archive copy is roughly the complete 192 page text.
